Ingredient: 
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 big apples
  • Pastry for 2 crust pie

1. Preheat 400°F.

2. Mix first 3 ingredients. Add water and vinegar.

3. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from range, add butter and vanilla extract. Cool syrup.

4. Place sliced apples in a 9 1/2" Pyrex brand pie plate lined with pastry.

5. Pour the syrup over apples and cover with top crust. Bake for about 40 minutes.
